- Heraklit je stavební materiál – lisované desky z z jehličnatého dřeva. V češtině užívaný název je odvozen od názvu původního výrobce, rakouské firmy Heraklith GmbH (od roku 2006 součást Knauf Insulation GmbH). Heraklit byl standardizován v roce 1938 v DIN 1101 a od roku 2007 podle EN 13168 a DIN V 4108 -10. Kvůli vzhledu povrchu bývá heraklit německy žertem nazýván Sauerkrautplatten (doslova desky z kyselého zelí), ale oficiální německé označení je HWL-Platten (Holzwolle-Leichtbauplatten). (cs)
- Holzwolle-Leichtbauplatten (auch HWL-Platten genannt) sind Bauplatten, die aus langfaseriger Holzwolle und Bindemitteln auf mineralischer Grundlage bestehen. Zum Einsatz kommen HWL-Platten als verputzbare Dämmplatten im Innen- und Außenbereich. Umgangssprachlich werden sie häufig als „Sauerkrautplatten“ oder „Sauerkohlplatten“ bezeichnet. Markennamen – teilweise historisch – sind u. a. Ceban, Erulit, Fibrolith, Frankotekt, Hapec, Hapri, Heraklith, Hincolith, Klimalit, Lenzolith, Lignolith und Saalith. Wegen des Begriffes „Wolle“ werden sie von Laien gelegentlich mit den deutlich stärker Wärme dämmenden, jedoch ohne mineralische Bindemittel und völlig anders aufgebauten Holzfaserdämmplatten verwechselt.
