- Lloyd Eldred Herman (born 1936) is an American arts administrator, curator, writer, and museum planner who is an acknowledged expert on contemporary craft. He is known for being the founding Director of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C., from 1971 to 1986. He was elected as an honorary fellow by the American Craft Council in 1988. Additionally he is an Honorary Lifetime Member of Northwest Designer Craftsmen, a member of the American Alliance of Museums, an honorary member of the American Society of Interior Designers, a trustee of the Highline Historical Society. He has been decorated in Belgium and Denmark, for exhibitions that he organized in their countries. (en)
