- E-UTRA (Akronym für evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access) ist die Luftschnittstelle für den Mobilfunkstandard LTE. Sie wurde von der Standardisierungsorganisation 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) anfangs noch unter der Bezeichnung Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) herausgegeben. E-UTRA ist die Weiterführung der UMTS-Spezifikation mit Erweiterungen bzw. Veränderungen im eNodeB bzw. UE-Bereich. Die Luftschnittstelle von LTE ist nicht abwärtskompatibel zu UMTS/HSPA. Durch Nutzung von OFDM im Downlink und im Uplink verringern sich die Latenzen und die Datenraten steigen. Erste Versuche fanden im Jahr 2008 statt. (de)
- E-UTRA is the air interface of 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) upgrade path for mobile networks. It is an acronym for Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access, also referred to as the 3GPP work item on the Long Term Evolution (LTE) also known as the Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) in early drafts of the 3GPP LTE specification. E-UTRAN is the initialism of Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network and is the combination of E-UTRA, user equipment (UE), and E-UTRAN Node B or Evolved Node B (eNodeB). It is a radio access network (RAN) which is referred to under the name EUTRAN standard meant to be a replacement of the UMTS and HSDPA/HSUPA technologies specified in 3GPP releases 5 and beyond. Unlike HSPA, LTE's E-UTRA is an entirely new air interface system, unrelated to and incompatible with W-CDMA. It provides higher data rates, lower latency and is optimized for packet data. It uses OFDMA radio-access for the downlink and SC-FDMA on the uplink. Trials started in 2008. (en)
- Le terme EUTRAN désigne la partie radio d’un réseau de téléphonie mobile LTE ou LTE Advanced ; c’est l’abréviation de « Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network » (réseau universel évolué d'accès radio terrestre), le terme EUTRA est aussi parfois utilisé. Ce réseau 4G est normalisé par l’organisme 3GPP. Le réseau EUTRAN est un réseau cellulaire qui assure la connexion via des ondes radio UHF entre les terminaux mobiles et le cœur de réseau de l'opérateur mobile. Un EUTRAN est constitué d’antennes radio, de stations de base « eNode B », ainsi que des liaisons en fibre optique, cuivre ou portées par un faisceau hertzien (réseau de backhaul) raccordant ces équipements entre eux et avec le cœur de réseau. E-UTRAN은 진화된 범용 지상 무선 접속망(Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network)의 준말이며 E-UTRA (UE)와 E-UTRAN 노드 B(진화형 노드 B/ENodeB)를 결합한 것이다. EUTRAN 표준의 무선 접속 네트워크(RAN)이며 3GPP 릴리스 5 이상에 규정된 UMTS와 HSPDA/HSUPA 기술을 대체한다. HSPA와 달리 LTE의 E-UTRA는 완전히 새로운 무선 인터페이스 시스템이며 UMTS와 관련이 없으며 UMTS와 호환되지 않는다. 더 높은 데이터 전송 속도, 더 낮은 지연을 제공하며 패킷 데이터에 최적화되어 있다. 다운링크에는 무선 접속을 사용하며 업링크에는 를 사용한다. 2008년 시범 운용이 시작되었다. (ko)
