- The 1986 Korean Football Festival was the fourth season of the top football league in South Korea. Six teams participated in this season. Five of them were professional teams (Yukong Elephants, Daewoo Royals, POSCO Atoms, Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso and Hyundai Horang-i) and one was a semi-professional team (Hanil Bank). Hallelujah FC, the first South Korean first professional football club, changed its status to a semi-professional club and withdrew from the league afterwards. Sangmu FC, run by the Army also withdrew, leaving Hanil Bank as the only semi-professional team in the league. It began on 2 March and ended on 16 November. It consisted of two stages and winners of each stage qualify for the championship playoffs. Between the two stages, the Korean Professional Football Championship in which only professional teams participated was held from May to September. (en)

- La saison 1986 du Championnat de Corée du Sud de football était la 4e édition de la première division sud-coréenne à poule unique, la K-League. Six clubs prennent part au championnat qui est organisé en plusieurs phases. La première est disputée à la façon des championnats sud-américains, avec deux tournois distincts, disputés en matchs aller et retour, qui offre une place pour la finale nationale à chacun de ses vainqueurs. La finale est quant à elle disputée en matchs aller et retour. Il n'y a pas de relégation en fin de saison, au vu du faible nombre d'équipes engagées dans la compétition. C'est le club des POSCO Atoms qui remporte le titre cette saison en battant en finale le tenant du titre, le club de Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso. C'est le tout premier titre de l'histoire du club. (fr)

El torneo comenzó el 2 de marzo y terminó el 23 de noviembre de 1986. El campeón fue POSCO Atoms; por otra parte, salió subcampeón Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso. - 1986년 축구대제전은 1983년에 출범한 한국 프로축구의 4번째 시즌으로, 공식 리그명이 '축구대제전 수퍼리그'에서 '축구대제전'으로 바뀌었다. 지난 시즌 참가했던 상무 축구단과 할렐루야 축구단이 리그를 탈퇴함에 따라 참가팀이 8팀에서 6팀으로 줄어들었다. 또한 단일리그에서 전 후기리그를 치르는 방식으로 리그 운영방식을 변경했다. 전기리그에 해당하는 춘계리그가 1986년 3월 2일 개막해 4월 20일에 마무리 되었으며, 후기리그에 해당하는 추계리그가 1986년 10월 11일 개막해 11월 16일에 마무리되었다. 춘계리그와 추계리그 사이의 리그 휴식기에는 프로팀만이 참가하는 프로축구선수권대회가 열렸으며 홈앤드 어웨이의 지역연고에 기반한(대우-부산,경남 럭키금성-대전,청주 유공-서울 포항제철-대구,경북 현대-인천,경기도) 리그를 실행하려 했지만 "지역연고지제가 지역감정 유발의 한 요인이 된다"는 체육부의 반대 때문에 무산됐다.
