- The Italian Chapel is a highly ornate Catholic chapel on Lamb Holm in the Orkney Islands. It was built during World War II by Italian prisoners of war, who were housed on the previously uninhabited island while they constructed the Churchill Barriers to the east of Scapa Flow. Only the concrete foundations of the other buildings of the prisoner-of-war camp survive. The chapel was not completed until after the end of the war, and was restored in the 1960s and again in the 1990s. It is a popular tourist attraction, and a category A listed building. It is in the Roman Catholic Parish of Our Lady & St Joseph in Orkney, part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Aberdeen. Mass is held in the chapel on the first Sunday of the summer months (April–September). (en)
- La Capilla Italiana (en inglés Italian Chapel y en italiano Cappella italiana) es una capilla localizada en Lamb Holm, en las Islas Órcadas (Escocia) que fue construida por prisioneros de guerra italianos capturados en África durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Los prisioneros fueron llevados a la isla entre 1942 y 1945 para ayudar en la construcción de las en Scapa Flow. La capilla fue construida utilizando dos (dos estructuras cilíndricas de acero corrugado prefabricadas) unidas de extremo a extremo; el interior corrigado fue cubierto con yeso, y tanto el altar como el , construidos con concreto tomado del trabajo en las barreras. Fångarna stannade på ön mellan 1942 och 1945 för att hjälpa till vid byggandet av Churchill Barriers. Kapellet byggdes av två Nissenbaracker vars kortsidor sammanfogades. De täcktes invändigt med gipsskivor som dekorerades av från Moena, som stannade kvar på ön för att bygga klart kapellet även om de andra fångarna släpptes strax efter krigets slut. Han avled år 1999 efter att ha besökt sitt livsverk flera gånger.Frescomålningarna renoverades år 2015 av den italienska konservatorn Antonella Papa från Rom. Altaret och delar av fasaden är av betong. Idag är kapellet en populär turistattraktion och det kommer över 100 000 turister hit varje år. (sv)
