En sia tempo, Rap lin rie havis aprobvortojn de multaj anglaparolantoj. Miksa lingvo, ĝi celas plejeblan koncizon por rapideco de esprimado. La aŭtoro komencis labori la projekton en 1922, la unua versio (nomita "International Symbolic Script") eldoniĝis en 1935; postaj versioj publikiĝis en 1936, 1943, 1946, kaj 1951. - Dutton Speedwords, transcribed in Speedwords as Dutton Motez, is an international auxiliary language as well as an abbreviated writing system using the English alphabet for all the languages of the world. It was devised by Reginald J. G. Dutton (1886–1970) who initially ran a shorthand college promoting Dutton Shorthand (a geometric script), then offered a mail order (correspondence) self-education course in Speedwords while still supporting the Dutton Shorthand. The business was continued by his daughter Elizabeth after his death. (en)
- Le Dutton World Speedwords sono una lingua ausiliaria internazionale e un sistema di stenografia, inventate da nella prima metà del Novecento. Le Speedwords utilizzano l'alfabeto latino per la composizione delle parole; le parole frequenti sono più corte di quelle di uso sporadico. Il vocabolario delle Speedwords è composto da meno di 400 radicali (i lemmi base del linguaggio, della lunghezza di 2 o 3 lettere). I concetti diversi dai radicali sono espressi tramite composti o prefissi/suffissi. Per esempio il verbo "rispondere" (axo) è un composto del radicale ax ("chiedere") più il suffisso contrario -o."Vocabolario" (comot) è invece co (collezione) unito a mot (parola). Nelle intenzioni di Dutton la duplice utilità delle Speedwords avrebbe dovuto aiutarne la diffusione. Nella realtà il sistema non attirò l'attenzione del grande pubblico, anche se nel XXI secolo il numero di utilizzatori di questo linguaggio per comunicazioni telematiche è in crescita. (it)
