- Das ehemalige Hotel Polski (deutsch: Polnisches Hotel) in Warschau bestand seit Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurde das Hotel von den deutschen Besatzern genutzt, um hier wohlhabende Juden zu internieren, die sich ausländische Reisepässe gekauft hatten. Die Ermordung der meisten dieser Juden ist als die „Hotel-Polski-Affäre“ bekannt. Die Zeitschrift Spiegel bezeichnete die Aktion 1973 als „Warschauer Gestapofalle Hotel Polski“. (de)
- Hotel Polski (lit. Polish Hotel), opened in 1808, was a hotel in Śródmieście, Warsaw, Poland, at 29 Długa street. In 1943, in the mop up operation following the liquidation of Warsaw Ghetto, the hotel was used by Germans as bait for Jews hiding in Warsaw. There the German agents and their Jewish collaborators pretended Jews could buy foreign passports and other documents, and then as foreign citizens, leave territories occupied by Nazi Germany. Approximately 2,500 Jews fell for this trap, with most subsequently arrested, moved to Nazi concentration camps, and perishing in The Holocaust. This case is known as "Hotel Polski Affair". In 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising the building housed a Polish insurgent stronghold called the "Holy Mother Redout", named after a painting located there. The building was heavily damaged during the fighting and re-purposed following the war. In 1965 the building was declared an object of cultural heritage and inscribed in the Polish heritage object registry. A commemoration plaque was unveiled at the building in 2013. (en)

Wiosną 1943 r. utworzono tam ośrodek internowania dla Żydów posiadających paszporty państw południowoamerykańskich. 24 sierpnia 1944 r. w czasie walk podczas powstania warszawskiego w budynku hotelu utworzono silny punkt obrony zwany „Redutą Matki Boskiej”. Nel 1943, nell'ambito dell'operazione di rastrellamento seguita alla liquidazione del ghetto di Varsavia, l'hotel fu usato dai tedeschi come esca per gli ebrei che si nascosero a Varsavia: gli agenti tedeschi e i loro collaboratori ebrei pretesero che gli ebrei potessero acquistare i passaporti stranieri e gli altri documenti, per poi lasciare i territori occupati dalla Germania nazista in qualità di cittadini stranieri. Circa 2500 ebrei caddero in questa trappola, la maggior parte di cui fu successivamente arrestata, poi trasferita nei campi di concentramento nazisti e uccisa durante l'Olocausto. Questo caso è noto come "Affare Hotel Polski". Nel 1944, durante la rivolta di Varsavia l'edificio ospitò la roccaforte dei ribelli polacchi chiamata "Santa Madre Redout", dal nome di un dipinto che si trovava al suo interno. L'edificio fu gravemente danneggiato durante i combattimenti e riadattato dopo la guerra. Nel 1965 l'edificio fu dichiarato oggetto del patrimonio culturale e iscritto nel registro polacco del patrimonio. Una targa commemorativa fu posta nell'edificio nel 2013. (it)
