Frank Albert Mechau (may-show) Jr. (January 1904–1946), was an American artist and muralist. Mechau's aspiration to become an artist began early in his life and developed rapidly. His determination led to a distinguished career that included three Guggenheim fellowships, thirteen public mural commissions, and work featured in dozens of national and international exhibitions. Many of his paintings are currently in private collections and museums around the U.S, and his murals adorn the walls of public buildings in Colorado, Nebraska, Texas, and Washington DC.
