- Fi de partida o Final de partida (en anglès Endgame i en francès Fin de partie) és un drama en un acte per a quatre personatges, escrit pel dramaturg i escriptor irlandès Samuel Beckett. Va ser redactat originalment en francès, amb el títol Fin de partie, i, com era el seu costum, el mateix Beckett el va traduir a l'anglès, com "Endgame", a l'any següent de la seva publicació. Va ser publicat en 1957, i és considerat, juntament amb obres com Tot esperant Godot, entre els més importants treballs del seu autor. Fou traduïda al català el 1990 per Lluís Solà com a Fi de partida; el 2010 es publicà una nova traducció Final de partida per Joan Cavallé. L'obra està dedicada a , el director que havia estrenat Tot esperant Godot a París, qui hauria buscat sense èxit un teatre on estrenar-la en aquesta ciutat. Es va estrenar a Londres, al Royal Court Theatre, quan accepten la invitació de , a l'abril de 1957. A posteriori, aquest mateix mes, es va estrenar a París, al Studio des Champs Élysées. També el 1957, ho va fer a Berlín, amb el títol de Endspiel. Al juny d'aquest mateix any es va estrenar a Espanya, dirigida per Alberto González Vergel. El 1990 fou traduïda al català i representada l'11 de gener del mateix any per la Gàbia de Vic sota la direcció de Jordi Mesalles i Bisbe, amb els actors Iva Vigatà, Joan Anguera, Lluís Soler i Ramon Vila. Die Uraufführung des Einakters fand am 3. April 1957 im Royal Court Theatre in London statt, da sich in Paris zunächst kein Theater an das Stück heranwagte, obwohl Beckett nach dem Erfolg seines ersten Bühnenwerks Warten auf Godot als Dramatiker bereits etabliert war. Die deutsche Premiere unter der Regie von Hans Bauer am 30. September 1957 im Schlossparktheater von Berlin stieß auf so großes Unverständnis, dass das Stück bereits nach acht Vorstellungen abgesetzt wurde. - Endgame, by Samuel Beckett, is an absurdist, tragicomic one-act play about a blind, paralyzed, domineering elderly man, his geriatric parents and his doddering, dithering, harried, servile companion in an abandoned shack in a post-apocalyptic wasteland who mention their awaiting some unspecified “end” which seems to be the end of their relationship, death, and the end of the actual play itself. Much of the play’s content consists of terse, back and forth dialogue between the characters reminiscent of bantering, along with trivial stage actions; the plot is held together by the development of a grotesque story-within-a-story the character Hamm is writing. An aesthetically profound part of the play is the way the story-within-story and the actual play come to an end at roughly the same time. The play’s title refers to chess and frames the characters as acting out a losing battle with each other or their fate. It was originally written in French (entitled Fin de partie) and was translated into English by Beckett himself. The play was first performed on April 3rd, 1957 at the Royal Court Theatre in London in a French-language production. Written before but premiered after Waiting for Godot, it is arguably among Beckett's best works. The literary critic Harold Bloom called it the greatest prose drama of the 20th century, saying "I know of no other work of its reverberatory power", but stated that he could not handle reading it in old age for its harrowing, barebone existentialism. Samuel Beckett considered it his masterpiece as the most aesthetically perfect, compact representation of his artistic views on human existence, and refers to it when speaking autobiographically through Krapp in Krapp's Last Tape when he mentions he had “already written the masterpiece”.. Fu originariamente scritta in francese e il suo titolo originale è Fin de partie: secondo quella che era la sua abitudine, fu tradotta in inglese da Beckett stesso come Endgame. L'opera è stata pubblicata nel 1957 ed è comunemente considerata uno dei lavori più significativi del drammaturgo irlandese. La prima dell'opera, in lingua francese, avvenne il 3 aprile 1957 al Royal Court Theatre di Londra, in concomitanza con la prima di Atto senza parole I. La regia era di Roger Blin, che interpretava anche il ruolo di Hamm. La prima in lingua inglese ebbe luogo al Cherry Lane Theatre di New York il 28 gennaio 1958, con regia di Alan Schneider. Nella stagione 1958-1959 si assistette anche ai primi allestimenti italiani, in settembre al di Roma, da parte della diretta da Andrea Camilleri, e in maggio alla Borsa di Arlecchino di Genova, diretto da Aldo Trionfo e recitato da Paolo Poli.
