- El fandub (no s'hauria de confondre amb el fansub) és un doblatge o redoblatge de determinats materials audiovisuals. El doblatge és l'acció de tornar a gravar un vídeo en una llengua diferent a l'original. Moltes produccions s'han traduït a diferents idiomes a càrrec d'aficionats. El text final pot oscil·lar entre una traducció literal i una completament lliure. La raó que existeix darrere dels fandubs és posar a l'abast dels aficionats aquelles sèries o pel·lícules que són difícils d'aconseguir o que només es troben en idiomes diferents al propi amb la finalitat de doblar-les o simplement parodiar-les. Els fandubs més coneguts són de dibuixos japonesos, però es poden fer amb dibuixos animats, pel·lícules i sèries en qualsevol altre idioma. Els fandubs normalment utilitzen el mateix material amb drets d'autor que els fansubs, però a diferent escala. Hi ha hagut casos on els fandubs populars, com Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series, Dragon Ball Z Abridged, i Sailor Moon Abridged són etiquetats per la productora japonesa per l'ús de drets d'autor del seu material (generalment a YouTube). Essas dublagens, por serem amadoras, não têm retorno financeiro, pois os fã-dubladores, em sua maioria, não possuem o registro de ator (DRT) e também não detêm os direitos autorais da obra com a qual estão trabalhando, o que vale para filmes, animações e semelhantes que tenham direitos autorais. A fandub é feita quando filmes, series e animações não possuem uma dublagem oficial ou quando não são distribuídos por causa da censura dos próprios países, dessa forma grupos se formam e criam fã-dublagens. Também é possível criar uma animação ou um curta-metragem e dublá-lo. A fã-dublagem é utilizada por muitos fãs de dublagem que pretendem seguir carreira como dubladores profissionais. Термін вживається на позначення безоплатного озвучування телевізійних та анімаційних серіалів, коротко- та повнометражних фільмів, відеороликів та відеоігор. Існує принципова різниця між дубляжем і фандабом. Дубляж є професійним озвучуванням фільмів, серіалів, ігор тощо. Для дубляжу залучаються кваліфіковані перекладачі, актори, звукорежисери. Озвучення відбувається з використанням професійної техніки, різноманітних бібліотек звуків, репліки підбираються під рухи вуст акторів. Фанатський дубляж може мати помилки в перекладі чи погану якість звуку, оскільки створений працею активних прихильників, мотивованих якнайшвидше випустити локалізований матеріал.
