- Electric Castle ist ein Musikfestival mit dem Schwerpunkt auf Elektronischer Tanzmusik auf dem Gelände des in Bonțida, Kreis Cluj in Rumänien. Neben DJ-Sets und Electro-Liveacts finden auch Auftritte von Rockbands statt. Das Festival fand erstmals 2013 mit einem dreitägigen Event und vier Bühnen statt. Insgesamt konnten über 30.000 Zuschauer gezählt werden. Hauptact war Morcheeba. Im nächsten Jahr wurde es bereits auf vier Tage bei fünf Bühnen erweitert. Hauptacts waren Die Antwoord und Thievery Corporation bei über 70.000 Gästen. Die nächsten Jahre wurde das Areal vergrößert und man konnte mehr als 200.000 Zuschauer zählen. Zu den Künstlern gehörten Jessie J, Skrillex, Fatboy Slim, Pan-Pot, Grandmaster Flash, The Prodigy, Sigur Rós, Deadmau5, Florence + the Machine, Nils Frahm, Limp Bizkit. 2019 wurde das Festival bei den European Festival Awards als bestes mittelgroßes Festival ausgezeichnet. - Electric Castle is an annual music festival held on the Transylvanian domain of the Bánffy Castle, near Cluj-Napoca in Romania, and combines music, technology and alternative arts. It features many genres of music including rock, indie, hip hop, electronic, techno, and drum and bass as well as art installations. In the seventh edition, the festival has received the award for the Best Medium Sized Festival at the European Festival Awards, where Electric Castle has been nominated since its existence. On its past editions, the festival had confirmed names such as Florence + the Machine, Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Prodigy, Nils Frahm, Skrillex, Bring me the Horizon, Deadmau5, alt-J, Franz Ferdinand, Fatboy Slim, Sigur Ros, Bastille, Rudimental, Thievery Corporation, Die Antwoord, Twenty One Pilots, Gorillaz and many other artists that performed on one of its ten stages. Lors de ses éditions précédentes, le festival avait annoncé des noms tels que The Prodigy, Skrillex, Deadmau5, alt-J, Franz Ferdinand, Bring Me The Horizon, Fatboy Slim, Sigur Ros, Bastille, Rudimental, Thievery Corporation, Die Antwoord et de nombreux autres artistes qui ont joué sur l'une de ses dix scènes.
