Dermott Hugh Brereton (born 19 August 1964) is an Australian former professional Australian rules football player in the Australian Football League (AFL) who is regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation. Of Irish descent (his parents migrated from Ireland before his birth), he was known for his aggressive style of play. Brereton kicked 464 goals and played in five premierships for Hawthorn during his 211-game career.
