- Die Classic Rock Society (CRS) ist ein englischer Verein zur Förderung von Classic Rock, Progressive Rock und Folk Rock.Der Verein wurde 1991 in Rotherham gegründet. Mittlerweile hat er Mitglieder auf der ganzen Welt.Der Verein unterhält nicht nur Beziehungen zu Rockgrößen wie Yes, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Fish, Marillion und The Flower Kings, sondern fördert intensiv junge Nachwuchsbands. Aussichtsreichen neuen Musikern wird die Möglichkeit gegeben auf zahlreichen Konzerten zusammen mit bekannten Bands vor großem Publikum aufzutreten.Die CRS publiziert auch ein Hochglanzmagazin, welches quartalsweise an alle Mitglieder verteilt wird. - Classic Rock Society, also known as CRS, was founded by Martin Hudson in 1991 in Rotherham, England, at the Florence Nightingale public house, and quickly progressed to become a large and well recognised organisation helping to forward the cause of progressive rock, and classic rock. Between 2001 and 2012 the CRS was operated as a limited company, Classic Rock (UK) Ltd, before reverting to a society. The CRS announced its closure on 7 March 2019. CRS founder Martin Hudson, former director Kris Hudson-Lee & long serving writer James R Turner founded Spirit of Progressive Rock in 2019 to pick up where the CRS left off. Spirit has its own website where they review new progressive albums as well as promoting gigs at the Corporation in Sheffield.https://spirit.rocks/ (en)
