- Christophe Castaner (pronunciació francesa: [kʁistɔf kastanɛʁ]: [kʁistɔf kastanɛʁ]; Ollioules, 3 de gener de 1966) és un advocat i polític francès que és Ministre d'Interior des del 16 d'octubre de 2018 i dirigent de La République En Marche! des de 2017. Del 17 de maig de 2017 al 16 d'octubre de 2018, va ser Secretari d'Estatal de Relacions amb el Parlament (Secrétaire d'État chargé des Relacions avec le Parlement) amb el Primer ministre Édouard Philippe; fins que el 24 de novembre de 2017 va ocupar el lloc de Portaveu del Govern. També va ser portaveu amb Emmanuel Macron durant la seva campanya per les presidencials de 2017. Nascut a Ollioules en el departament del Var de la regió Provença – Alps – Costa Blava, va ser membre de l'Assemblea Nacional pel departament d'Alps de l'Alta Provença de 2012 a 2017 i va encapçalar la llista de Partit Socialista a les Eleccions regionals franceses de 2015 a Provença – Alps – Costa Blava abans d'unir-se al moviment En Marche! de Macron el 2016. També va ser alcalde de Forncauquièr de 2001 a 2017 i Vicepresident del Consell Regional de Provença – Alps – Costa Blava de 2004 a 2012. - Christophe Castaner (French pronunciation: [kʁistɔf kastanɛʁ]; born 3 January 1966) is a French politician, former minister of parliament, and former Minister of the Interior from 16 October 2018 to 6 July 2020. In 2017, he was elected for a 3 year term as chairman (délégué général) of the Renaissance Party (formerly La République En Marche!) with President Emmanuel Macron's support. Castaner was Government Spokesperson under Prime Minister Édouard Philippe in 2017 and Minister of Relations with Parliament from 2017 to 2018. He was also Emmanuel Macron's 2017 presidential campaign spokesman. Born in Ollioules in the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Castaner was Mayor of Forcalquier from 2001 to 2017 and Vice President of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur from 2004 to 2012 under the presidency of Michel Vauzelle, before he represented the 2nd constituency of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department in the National Assembly from 2012 to 2017. He headed the Socialist Party list in the 2015 regional election in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, which saw the party lose all representation at the regional level. He joined Macron's En Marche! (later La République En Marche!) movement in 2016; he became its chairman the following year after a few months as Government Spokesman. In 2018, Castaner was appointed as Interior Minister following the resignation of Gérard Collomb. His tenure, which was marked by the yellow vests movement, was heavily criticised for police brutality and controversial public statements. While France was battling the COVID-19 pandemic, he allowed a Black Lives Matter protest to take place, attracting further criticism. The following month, he was succeeded by Gérald Darmanin and returned to the National Assembly. In the 2022 legislative election, he lost his seat in the National Assembly to Léo Walter of La France Insoumise (FI). (en)
