- Carnival of Light is the third studio album by British rock band Ride, released in June 1994 via Creation Records. The album showcased the band's shift from shoegazing to a more traditional, folk rock sound. It was not well received by critics, and by the end of 1994 even the band members had become disillusioned, referring to it amongst themselves as "Carnival of Shite", although in a 2022 interview Andy Bell stated that he had "made peace with it. It’s got a lot of good tracks, like Moonlight Medicine and Birdman". (en)

Il a été produit par John Leckie avec la collaboration de Nigel Godrich (futur producteur de Radiohead), à l'exception de , produit par George Drakoulias (collaborateur des Black Crowes) avec la participation du claviériste de Deep Purple, Jon Lord. Il s'éloigne du style shoegazing qui a fait la renommée du groupe pour évoluer vers un son plus psychédélique. Le titre , paru en single, est une reprise du groupe The Creation. À sa sortie, l'album a reçu un accueil critique médiocre : le groupe lui-même, à la fin de l'année 1994, considérait le disque comme mauvais et l'avait surnommé "Carnival of Shite". Les tensions au sein du groupe apparaissent au niveau de l'agencement des titres : une moitié est composée par Mark Gardener, Steve Queralt et Laurence Colbert, tandis que l'autre est signée par Andy Bell.
