Součástí katastru Bubenče je i celý Císařský ostrov, Stromovka (Královská obora) a Výstaviště. Patří sem i fotbalový stadion Sparty a část Vítězného náměstí. Většina katastru Bubenče – 52 % – patří do obvodu a městské části Praha 7, ale většina zastavěné plochy leží v obvodu a městské části Praha 6, (v Praze 7 leží především Stromovka).V letech 1904–1921 byl Bubeneč samostatným městem, pak byl připojen k Praze. The name Bubeneč is masculine, although Czech grammar rules also allow its use as a feminine. Bubeneč is sometimes informally called "Little Moscow" due to the high concentration of various entities and buildings related to the Russian government and private businesses, including the vast Embassy of Russia and the office of Rossotrudnichestvo. In een deel van de wijk staan grote villa's, dit is de reden dat er veel ambassades in de wijk gevestigd zijn, waaronder de Nederlandse en de Belgische.
