- Scouts BSA (anciennement Boy Scouting) est une des branches de l’organisation scoute américaine des Boy Scouts of America (BSA), accessible aux jeunes garçons de 10 à 17 ans. Elle est la plus ancienne des trois principales branches du mouvement (Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting et Venturing) et la plus importante en termes d’effectifs. Son programme s’inscrit dans celui du mouvement scout mondial et se base sur une série d’activités en plein air dont les objectifs sont le développement du caractère, de la citoyenneté et du bien-être physique de la jeunesse. Le mouvement accueillait en son sein 61 495 garçons en 1911. À la fin de l’année 2005, il comptait 976 789 membres dont 543 971 chefs de troupe dans 42 811 troupes. - Scouts BSA (previously known as Boy Scouts, the official name until 2019) is the flagship membership level of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) for boys and girls between the ages of typically 11 and 17. It provides youth training in character, citizenship, and mental and personal fitness. Scouts are expected to develop personal religious values, learn the principles of American heritage and government, and acquire skills to become successful adults. To achieve these, Scouting applies eight methods of Scouting: scouting ideals (as exemplified by the Scout Oath, the Scout Law, the Scout Motto, and the Scout Slogan), the patrol method, participation in outdoor programs, advancement, adult association, personal growth, leadership development, and the uniform. The participants, known as Scouts, are organized in Scout troops, led by leaders known as Scouters. In February 2019, the program began admitting girls as well as boys, and the name was changed from "Boy Scouts" to "Scouts BSA". (en)
