- La Bethesda Fountain (en català: Font de Bethesda) està situada al centre de l'esplanada Bethesda Terrace a Central Park, al barri de Manhattan a la ciutat de Nova York. L'escultura de la font ha estat dissenyada el 1868 per Emma Stebbins (1815-1882) i inaugurada el 1873. Stebbins era la primera dona a realitzar un projecte artístic per a la ciutat de Nova York. Els quatre querubins representen de la part inferior les virtuts: la temprança, la puresa, la prosperitat i la pau. L'obra és coronat per un àngel, anomenat Angel of the Water (àngel de les aigües) en record al sistema d'aigua potable, «Croton water system» , estrenat el 1842. S'inspira en un passatge de l'Evangeli segons Joan, capítol 5, que descriui un àngel beneint la piscina de Bethesda a Jerusalem. És la única obra escultural del parc. (ca)
- Bethesda Terrace and Fountain are two architectural features overlooking the southern shore of the Lake in New York City's Central Park. The fountain, with its Angel of the Waters statue, is located in the center of the terrace. Bethesda Terrace's two levels are united by two grand staircases and a lesser one that passes under Terrace Drive. They provide passage southward to the Central Park Mall and Naumburg Bandshell at the center of the park. The upper terrace flanks the 72nd Street Cross Drive and the lower terrace provides a podium for viewing the Lake. The mustard-olive colored carved stone is New Brunswick sandstone, with a harder stone for cappings, with granite steps and landings, and herringbone pattern paving of Roman brick laid on edge. (en)

Die Bronzestatue steht über der oberen Schale des Brunnens Bethesda Fountain an der den Park querenden Straße auf Höhe der 72. Straße am Ende der Mall, dem Terrace Drive. Sie hat eine Höhe von etwa 2,6 Metern. Stebbins fing mit den Arbeiten an der Statue in Rom im Jahr 1861 (am Beginn des Amerikanischen Bürgerkriegs) an. Die Plastik wurde im Jahr 1868 vollendet und 1873 eingeweiht. Der Auftrag dazu an sie als Frau war damals eine Neuheit. Errichtet ist sie über dem Becken von Calvert Vaux. (de)
