- Alfreda Benge is a lyricist and illustrator. She was born in 1940 in Austria to a Polish mother, and came to England in 1947. Her stepfather, Ronald Benge, was a prominent librarian who established library schools in developing countries. She has been married to musician Robert Wyatt since 1974. She has contributed lyrics to many of his compositions, and has written lyrics for French musician/producer Bertrand Burgalat, and for Brazilian singer Monica Vasconcelos. Benge studied painting at Camberwell Art School, graphics at the London School of Printing, film at the RCA, worked in film, and served as an assistant to the editor Graeme Clifford for Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now (1973). She has provided cover artwork for all Wyatt's solo albums since 1974, as well as for albums by other musicians including Gravity by Fred Frith, Alice by Klimperei and Spanish Dance Troupe by Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. She has illustrated two children's books written by Ivor Cutler. (en)

Alfreda (znana jako Alfie) poślubiła muzyka, kompozytora i wokalistę rockowego Roberta Wyatta. Po 1974 r. rozpoczęła projektować okładki do płyt swojego męża, jak i innych muzyków, m.in. Freda Fritha (album ). Jest także autorką tekstów do kompozycji Roberta i innych muzyków. Zilustrowała także dwie książki dla dzieci autorstwa muzyka (m.in. współpracującego z Wyattem) : Herbert the Chicken i Herbert the Elephant. Jest najlepszą przyjaciółką wybitnej aktorki brytyjskiej Julie Christie. Jako asystentka montażysty pracowała przy filmie Don’t Look Now w reżyserii Nicolasa Roega. W filmie tym Christie grała główną rolę kobiecą jako żona bohatera granego przez Donalda Sutherlanda. Głos Alfredy został uwieczniony na kilku albumach Roberta Wyatta. Julia Christie dzięki przyjaźni z Alfredą także została nagrana na albumie zespołu Wyatta Matching Mole . Pod pseudonimem Ruby Crystal wygłasza mówioną, bardzo słabo słyszalną partię (Matching Mole był zespołem głównie instrumentalnym) w utworze „Nan True’s Hole”. Tekst ma charakter lesbijski. Grupa wykonywała ten utwór pod anagramowymi tytułami Oh, Len’s Nature lub Ethanol Nurse z powodu problemów, które mieli z wydawcą. Obie panie zostały także uwiecznione w tytułach dwóch kompozycji Billa MacCormicka; Alfreda (Gloria) w „Gloria Gloom” a Julie (Flora) we „Flora Fridget”. Alfredzie poświęcony jest prawie cały album Wyatta Rock Bottom.
