Alan I. Bigel is a Political Science and Public Administration Professor at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where he has been teaching since 1984. Bigel is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He received his B.A. from Brooklyn College in New York City in 1976 and his M.A.(1978) as well as his Ph.D.(1984) from The New School for Social Research in New York City. Courses presently taught are eight Constitutional Law classes and general introduction to American Government. Publications include books and law review articles on the United States Supreme Court and its Justices. He is an ardent supporter of the libertarian philosophy and originalism.
