- 3tera, Inc., (founded in 2004) was a developer of system software for utility computing and cloud computing headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California. It was acquired by CA Technologies in 2010. 3tera is among the pioneers in the cloud computing space, having launched its AppLogic system in February 2006. Cloud computing is the set of technologies and business practices that enable companies of all sizes to build, deploy, monitor and scale applications using resources accessed over the internet. Web 2.0, SaaS, Enterprise and government users are adopting cloud computing because it eliminates capital investment in hardware and facilities as well as reduces operations labor. On June 16, 2014, CA Technologies announced that AppLogic would reach its End of Life on June 30, 2015. (en)
