The 2018 New York Mets season was the franchise's 57th season and the team's 10th season at Citi Field. They attempted to return to the postseason after an injury-plagued under-performance in 2017. This was their first season with Mickey Callaway as manager, succeeding Terry Collins. The Mets got off to a franchise record 11-1 start and ended the month of April with a 17-9 record, in 1st place in the National League East. However, they went 61-76 the rest of the way, and were eliminated from playoff contention by mid-September.
