- Municipal elections were held in Finland on 9 April 2017 with advance voting between 29 March and 4 April. The councils in 295 municipalities in Finland (excluding Åland) were elected. Several municipalities altered the size of their councils (mainly because of municipal mergers) before the elections which resulted in reduction of seats available from 9,674 to 8,999. (en)

Se eligieron los consejos de 295 municipios en Finlandia (excluyendo Åland) para el período entre el 1 de junio de 2017 y el 31 de mayo de 2021. El número de representantes dependió de la población presente en el municipio, con 13 escaños para municipios con menos de 5.000 habitantes, hasta 79 escaños en municipios con más de 500.000 personas. Varios municipios alteraron el tamaño de sus consejos (principalmente debido a fusiones municipales) antes de las elecciones, lo que resultó en una reducción de escaños disponibles de 9.674 a 8.999. Tres partidos ingresados recientemente en el registro de partidos fueron parte de la elección: el Partido Feminista, el Partido Liberal y el Partido de Justicia Animal. O partido com mais votos foi o Partido da Coligação Nacional, seguido do Partido Social Democrata e do Partido do Centro. No conjunto, os três partidos do governo recuaram - Partido da Coligação Nacional, Partido do Centro e especialmente o Partido dos Verdadeiros Finlandeses. O Partido Social Democrata ficou em segundo lugar. A Aliança dos Verdes teve um resultado sensacional. A Aliança de Esquerda quebrou a tendência descendente. O Partido Popular Sueco parece estar numa espiral positiva. O Partido Democrata-Cristão registou um discreto aumento. A participação eleitoral aumentou muito ligeiramente. (pt)
