- The 2016–17 Belgian Second Amateur Division is the inaugural season of the division in its current format, as it replaces the former Belgian Third Division and is now placed at the fourth-tier of football in Belgium. The division consists of three separate leagues, each containing 16 teams. Leagues A and B consist of teams with a license from the Voetbalfederatie Vlaanderen (VFV, the Dutch speaking wing of the Belgian FA), while league C contains teams with a license from the Association des Clubs Francophones de Football (ACFF, the French speaking wing of the RBFA). The champions from each of the three leagues will promote to the 2017–18 Belgian First Amateur Division. The fixtures were announced on 5 July 2016. For the inaugural season the following teams will participate:
* The 14 teams in each of the groups A and B of the 2015–16 Belgian Third Division that either did not apply for a Belgian remunerated football license, did not qualify in the top two for direct promotion or did not win promotion through the promotion play-offs.
* 20 teams promoted from the 2015–16 Belgian Fourth Division. (en)
- Le Championnat de Belgique de football D4 2016-2017 est la soixante-cinquième édition du championnat de Championnat belge de « 4e Division ». Mais c'est la toute première édition de ce niveau sous l'appellation «Division 2 Amateur». Cette compétition est de niveau national mais « régionalisé ». Cette appellation d'apparence paradoxale vient de la volonté de l'URBSFA de conserver son esprit unitaire et de ne pas ce scinder en « Fédérations régionales » comme d'autres sports ont pu le faire. Cette Division 2 Amateur se répartit en trois séries de 16 clubs. Deux séries composées de 16 clubs situés en Région flamande (ou selon le règlement) affiliés à la VFV - Voetbal Federatie Vlaanderen - et une série avec des clubs du reste du pays (ou selon le règlement) affiliés à l'ACFF - Association des Clubs Francophones de Football -. Les trois premiers champions de cette nouvelle forme de la "D4 belge" sont Berchem, Châtelet-Farciennes et Knokke. (fr)
- Het seizoen 2016/17 van de Belgische Tweede klasse amateurs gaat van start in september 2016 en eindigt in mei 2017. Daarna worden nog eindrondes voor promotie naar Eerste klasse amateurs en degradatie naar Derde klasse amateurs afgewerkt. De competitie telt 3 reeksen van 16 ploegen. Twee reeksen met clubs, aangesloten bij de VFV en één reeks met clubs aangesloten bij de ACFF. De nieuwe competitie werd samengesteld uit de teams uit de voormalige Derde klasse die niet voor promotie of degradatie in aanmerking kwamen. (nl)
