Nelson S. Dilworth (June 27, 1890 – June 21, 1965) was an American farmer who served for 24 years in the California legislature. Dilworth was a strong proponent of restrictions on communists in schools and state government jobs. Dilworth was born in Ohio in 1890. His family moved to Los Angeles when he was seven, then moved to the Coachella Valley in 1903. During World War I. Dilworth served in the American Expeditionary Forces in France. He later became a farmer in Hemet, California. He served as a mail carrier, postmaster, and Assistant Clerk of the state Assembly. and
