Argentina held national parliamentary elections on Sunday, 23 October 2005. For the purpose of these elections, each of the 23 provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires are considered electoral districts. In most provinces, the national elections were conducted in parallel with local ones, whereby a number of municipalities elected legislative officials (concejales) and in some cases also a mayor (or the equivalent executive post). Each provincial election followed local regulations.

En estos comicios se renovó la mitad de los diputados nacionales (127) y un tercio de los senadores (24). Los electos asumieron sus cargos el 10 de diciembre de 2005. El Senado se renueva por tercios cada dos años, con lo cual corresponde que 8 provincias elijan senadores nacionales en cada fecha de elecciones. Además, se votó para elegir 400 legisladores provinciales en trece provincias, y 55 intendentes en un total de ocho provincias. Todo esto, a lo cual se suman 3.738 autoridades municipales que se eligen en dieciséis provincias, arroja un total de 4.344 cargos en disputa. (es)

Il vincitore di queste elezioni è stato il presidente in carica Néstor Kirchner e il suo movimento socialdemocratico Frente para la Victoria che ha consolidato la sua maggioranza in entrambe le camere.L'affluenza alle urne è stata intorno al 71% degli aventi diritto al voto.
