İlhan Koman (June 17, 1921 – December 30, 1986) was a Turkish sculptor. Between 1951 and 1958, he worked at the Istanbul Fine Arts Academy, before moving to Sweden in 1959. His distinct style of mixing science and art in his works earned him a unique position among contemporary artists, for which he was referred to as the Turkish Da Vinci. His most famous and most talked about work in the field of figurative abstraction is his sculpture Akdeniz.

Dezember 1986 in Stockholm, Schweden) war einer der bekanntesten und einflussreichsten Bildhauer der Türkei.Koman stammte aus einer der ältesten Künstlerfamilien in Edirne. Nach dem Schulabschluss bewarb er sich an der Akademie der angewandten Künste in Istanbul für die Malereiklasse von Leopold Levy. Während des Studiums der Malerei belegte Koman zusätzlich den Kurs für Skulpturales Gestalten bei Hadi Bara und Zühtü Müridoglu, in dem sich das erste Mal sein bildhauerisches Talent zeigte. So wechselte er auf Anraten seiner Lehrer in die Bildhauerklasse zu Rudolf Belling, der sein Talent weitergehend förderte. (de)

Ilhan Koman växte upp i Edirne och utbildade sig vid målerilinjen på Konstakademien i Istanbul, varifrån han uteximinerades 1941, samt 1947-51 i Paris på Académie Julien och École du Louvre. Han hade sin första separatutställning 1948 på Galerie B i Paris.Åren 1951-58 var han lärare vid Konsthögskolan i Istanbul. (sv)
