Orne Harbor (64°37′S 62°32′W / 64.617°S 62.533°W) is a cove one mile wide, indenting the west coast of Graham Land two miles southwest of Cape Anna along the Danco Coast on the west side of the Antarctic Peninsula. Discovered by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition under Gerlache in 1898. The name Orne Harbor was probably in use by Norwegian whalers, because it was used by Scottish geologist David Ferguson following his geologic reconnaissance of this area aboard the whaler Hanka in 1913.

  • Der Orne Harbour ist eine Bucht an der Danco-Küste des Grahamlands im Norden der Antarktischen Halbinsel. Sie liegt 3 km südwestlich des Kap Anna auf der Arctowski-Halbinsel. Die Landspitze Punta Formas an ihrem Kopfende unterteilt die Bucht in zwei Seitenarme. Teilnehmer der Belgica-Expedition (1897–1899) unter der Leitung des belgischen Polarforschers Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery entdeckten sie im Jahr 1898. Die Benennung geht vermutlich auf norwegische Walfänger zurück. Der schottische Geologe David Ferguson etablierte diese Benennung im Zuge seiner von 1913 bis 1914 dauernden Antarktisfahrt mit dem Walfänger Hanka. (de)
