In 2018, a representative of the Massachusetts Teenage Republicans (Mike Brodo) and the vice-chair of the Massachusetts High School Democrats (Shapiro) spoke in support of a Massachusetts Civics Education Bill.In 2019, Shapiro launched TurnUp, an organization and app attempting to improve youth voter turnout.
