- Zamerjálaj Tarzí (* 1939, persky زَمِریالَی طَرزی ), anglicky Zemaryalai Tarzi je archeolog z Afghánistánu. Narodil se v Kábulu. Svá studia vykonával pod patronací profesora Daniela Schlumbergera. V roce 1979 se dostal do Francie, kde začal působit v postu profesora Východní archeologie na , . V dalších letech začal pracovat především v oblasti Bamjánu, kde se i v současnosti zabývá archeologickými pozůstatky Bamjánského údolí a především bamjánskými Buddhy. Tarzí patří k zastáncům teorie o existenci několikasetmetrové sochy ležícího Buddhy, která by se podle některých zdrojů měla v Bamjánu nacházet. (cs)

De 1973 à 1979, il est le Directeur d'Archéologie et la Conservation des Monuments Historiques de l'Afghanistan et directeur général de l'Institut afghan d'archéologie (1972-1978). Réfugié en France en 1979, il occupe le poste de professeur d'Archéologie orientale à l'Université de Strasbourg. Il est directeur de la mission archéologique française sur le site de Bamiyan. Le professeur Tarzi est l'auteur d'environ soixante articles et de livres. (fr)
- Dr. Zemaryalai Tarzi (Pashto: زمریالی طرزی) (born 1939) is an archaeologist from Afghanistan. Born in Kabul in 1939, Professor Tarzi completed his studies under the supervision of Professor Daniel Schlumberger, in the process of obtaining three Ph.Ds. From 1973 to 1979, he was Director of Archaeology and Preservation of Historical Monuments of Afghanistan as well as the Director General of the Archaeology Institute of Kabul. Tarzi was exiled to France in 1979, where he assumed the post of Professor of Eastern Archaeology at the University of Strasbourg. He later directed the excavations in Bamiyan and Hadda on the sites of Tape Shotor and Tape Tope Kalan. He is currently Director for the French Archaeological Missions for the Surveys and Excavations of Bamiyan. Dr. Tarzi starred in Christian Frei's documentary The Giant Buddhas about the Taliban's destruction of the Buddhas of Bamyan. Professor Tarzi is the author of some sixty articles and books, and serves as president of the Association for the Protection of Afghan Archaeology (APAA), based in San Rafael, California. (en)
