- Yasuo Kobayashi (小林 保雄, Kobayashi Yasuo, né le 20 septembre 1936) Yasuo Kobayashi est un maître japonais d'aïkido, 8e dan de l'Aikikai. Kobayashi est né dans le district de Kudan à Tokyo. Il commence la pratique martiale avec le judo mais découvre la pratique de l’aïkido à l’âge de 19 ans. En suivant le conseil d’un ami, il se rend à l’aikikaï durant l'hiver 1954. À cette occasion, il assiste à un cours dirigé par TADA Senseï. Séduit par cette voie, il décide de s’inscrire à l’Aikikaï Hombu Dojo.En parallèle de sa pratique martiale, il poursuit ses études dans le but d’obtenir un diplôme d’ingénieur électricien. Étudiant à l’université Meiji, il se rend quotidiennement au hombu dojo puis devient élève à résidence (uchi deshi). Durant ses premières années de pratique, le jeune Yasuo étudie régulièrement sous la direction du Fondateur Morihei UESHIBA. En 1969, il crée son propre dojo à Kodaira. - Yasuo Kobayashi (小林 保雄, Kobayashi Yasuo, born September 20, 1936) is a Japanese aikido teacher holding the rank of 8th dan Aikikai. Kobayashi was born in Kudan, Chiyoda-ku, in Tokyo. Though he started practicing judo as a child at the Kodokan, he eventually switched to aikido soon after starting university and he entered the Aikikai Hombu dojo as an uchideshi under Morihei Ueshiba in 1954. In 1969, he established his own dojo in Kodaira. He is also responsible for the aikido clubs at the Meiji University, Saitama University, and the Tokyo Economics University. He is regularly invited to teach abroad, in Taiwan, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Canada (Calgary), the Nishida Dojo and Shikanai Dojos in Brazil, Germany, South Korea and the United States. As of January, 2003, there are 120 groups that are directly controlled or more loosely affiliated to Kobayashi's organisation Aikido Kobayashi Dojo. For its efforts to spread aikido among people, the Kobayashi Dojo received an organizational award for excellence from the Japan Budo Council in 1987. - Yasuo Kobayashi, född 1936, är en japansk aikidoinstruktör av den generation som tränat direkt under aikidons grundare, Morihei Ueshiba. Kobayashi har åttonde dan i organisationen Aikikai sedan 1990, och bär titeln shihan. Han är en framstående instruktör och organisatör inom Aikikai, den största och äldsta aikidoorganisationen. Kobayashi började träna på Aikikai Hombu dojo 1954, och öppnade sin första egna dojo (aikidoklubb) 1969. Han har en serie på över 80 klubbar under namnet Kobayashi Dojo under sina vingar, främst i Tokyoområdet. Kobayashi har en intensiv och vänligt varm metod att instruera. Bland annat detta har gjort att en mängd klubbar inom och utom Japan anlitar honom som instruktör. Kobayashis pedagogiska metod för att instruera barn, ursprungligen framtagen av honom tillsammans med Koichi Tohei, har mycket gott rykte. Kobayashi Dojo har en omfattande uchideshi-verksamhet, ett system för inneboende elever att på heltid utbildas till professionella instruktörer enligt gammal tradition. Genom detta har flera tongivande instruktörer såväl i Japan, Sverige och internationellt utvecklats och driver inte sällan egna anslutna dojos i sina respektive länder.
