- Vulfetrude, Wulfetrude, Vulfétrude ou Sainte Vulfétrude († 669), est une abbesse de Nivelles de 659 à 669, fille de Grimoald Ier, donc une petite fille de Pépin l'Ancien, maire du palais d'Austrasie et d'Itte Idoberge. Entrée en religion dans le monastère de Nivelles, elle succède à sa tante Sainte Gertrude en 659 comme abbesse de Nivelles. La chute de son père Grimoald Ier et de son frère Childebert III l'Adopté la laissa en butte à l'hostilité des anciens adversaires de ceux-ci. Les Neustriens par l'intermédiaire du nouveau roi et du nouveau maire du palais d'Austrasie tentèrent de l'obliger à démissionner. Devant leur échec ils s'emparèrent des biens de l'abbaye de Nivelles. (fr)

She was a daughter of Grimoald I, therefore, a grand daughter of Pepin the Elder, mayor of the palace of Austrasia and Itte Idoberge of the Carolingian dynasty. She entered the monastery of Nivelles, and she succeeded her aunt Saint Gertrude of Nivelles as abbess in 659 AD. The fall of her father Grimoald I and her brother Childebert the Adopted left her exposed to the hostility of opponents of the family. She is commemorated on November 23. (en)

Vulfetruda è stata la seconda badessa del monastero di Nivelles nel Brabante, che era stato fondato da santa Itta di Nivelles, sua nonna. Vulfetruda era figlia di Grimoaldo I e nipote di Pipino di Landen, a sua volta figlio di Carlomanno, maggiordomo di palazzo in Neustria per il re Clotario II, e di sua moglie Itta. Con la morte di Grimoaldo e del fratello Childeberto l'Adottato, i successivi maggiordomi di palazzo cercarono di costringerla a dimettersi. Venerata come santa, è ricordata localmente il 23 novembre, ma non compare nel Martirologio Romano. (it)
