- El ARVW (del inglés Investigación Aerodinámica de Volkswagen) es un automóvil conceptual construido por Volkswagen a finales de 1970 especialmente con el objeto de investigar la aerodinámica por la empresa Volkswagen para trazar una correlación entre la forma de la carrocería del vehículo y el consumo de combustible a alta velocidad. Se utilizó un motor turbodiesel de seis cilindros y una caja de cambios regular mientras el cuerpo se hizo a partir de aluminio y materiales compuestos. En 1980 fue el automóvil más rápido de diésel en el mundo, alcanzando la velocidad máxima de 362,07 kilómetros/h. (es)
- The ARVW (Aerodynamic Research Volkswagen) concept car was built by Volkswagen in the end of the 1970s, initially for aerodynamic research to investigate the influence of a vehicle's shape on its fuel consumption at high speeds. A tuned, six-cylinder turbodiesel engine and a conventional gearbox were used, while the body was made from aluminium and composite materials. The ARVW was the fastest diesel car in the world in 1980, reaching a top speed of 362.07 km/h (225 mph). (en)
- ARVWはフォルクスワーゲンが制作した空力実験車両である。 車両名は「空力実験・フォルクスワーゲン」（Aerodynamic Research Volkswagen ）に由来しており、18ヶ月に渡りのべ400時間の風洞実験によりCd値は0.15と極端に低い数値に抑えられている。 エンジンはフォルクスワーゲン・LT（Volkswagen LT ）用をベースとし直噴システムを備えるディーゼルエンジン、水冷直列6気筒2,383ccで、過給圧2.7バールのターボチャージャーとインタークーラーを備え、175PS/4,700rpm、30kgm/4,100rpm。 トランスミッションはアウディ・100用の4速MTを流用しているが、リンケージはケーブル式に変更されている。 燃料タンクは130L。 タイヤは195/50VRのピレリP8。ホイールは7in幅のスリーピース。サスペンションはバンク走行を有利にするため内側が低いセッティングがされている。 (ja)
