- Voices of the City és una pel·lícula muda de la Goldwyn Pictures dirigida per i protagonitzada per Leatrice Joy i Lon Chaney. Es va estrenar el desembre de 1921 amb el títol “The Night Rose” però en ser prohibida per la censura a l'estat de Nova York degut al caràcter immoral del personatge de Chaney, Goldwyn la va fer reeditar eliminant part de les escenes de l’actor i canviant-li el nom d’O’Rourke per Duke McGee. The film took more than 9 months to be released due to a controversy over the proposed title and the film's abundance of gunplay. The film was retitled Voices of the City and was only released in December 1921, although it had been completed in early March. The film is still listed under The Night Rose in some reference sources. The ball sequence involved 300 couples and took five days to film. It is considered a lost film today. A still exists showing Chaney as the gangster, Red O'Rourke. (en)

Flynn. Ambientato nei bassifondi criminali di San Francisco (quella che un tempo veniva definita "La costa dei barbari"), il film incontrò seri problemi con la censura. Nello stato di New York ne venne vietata la proiezione e, per permetterne la distribuzione, il produttore dovette rimaneggiare la storia, tagliare alcune scene incriminate, farlo rimontare e cambiargli titolo.
