- Vivi Ornitier es un personaje del videojuego Final Fantasy IX. Es un pequeño mago negro que vive en una cueva cerca de Treno (una ciudad de alta alcurnia) que además es muy tímido e introvertido y no recuerda su nacimiento. Sólo recuerda que vivía con su abuelo Quan, desde que lo rescató pescándolo. Su especialidad es la magia negra y se encuentra con el resto de personajes al inicio del juego en el teatro, donde Tantalus rapta a Garnet y sin querer escapa junto con la banda uniéndose a ella. Su forma recuerda al mago negro del , ojos brillantes, sombrero puntiagudo y cara tapada. Vivi vive con el enigma de desconocer todo su pasado hasta que en la Aldea Dali descubre la fábrica de magos negros para el Ejército de Alexandria en la cual todos son parecidos a él pero de mayor altura y funcionan como máquinas, el descubre que fue creado ahí pero que por una tormenta el barril en el que viajaba se cayó en la Caverna de Quan cerca de Treno , siendo descubierto por un Qu (Quan) el cual lo adopta y con el cual reconoce sus pocos recuerdos, pensando que esta solo más tarde en La Aldea De Los Magos Negros conoce a un grupo de Magos Negros como él que salieron "con fallas" de la fábrica de Dali y que iniciaron una vida propia y amigable en una aldea, Vivi a lo largo del juego pierde su timidez en pos de sus amigos haciéndose valiente para evitar la destrucción de su mundo. He appears in the video game Final Fantasy IX, where he serves as one of the game's protagonists. He is a shy character who through Final Fantasy IX grapples with the trauma of discovering his past and identity. He is a Black Mage, a class of magic users who employ fire, ice, lightning, and other elements into their magic. His design took inspiration from the film The Dark Crystal and was meant to appear both realistic and comic-like. He had part of the game's world designed around him. He has appeared in other Final Fantasy spin-off games such as the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy series, Kingdom Hearts II, and World of Final Fantasy. A felt doll of Vivi was included with pre-orders of the Japanese original release of Final Fantasy IX. Vivi is one of several "energetic young boy" characters who permeate the many player parties in the Final Fantasy series. He was preceded in his role by Palom from Final Fantasy IV, Gau from Final Fantasy VI, and Zell Dincht from Final Fantasy VIII, and he was succeeded in this role by Hope Estheim from Final Fantasy XIII, and Talcott Hester from Final Fantasy XV (though in the case of the latter, he was merely a non-player character, but nonetheless came the closest to filling the role). Vivi's character was met with universal acclaim, he is regarded as one of the greatest characters in role-playing games and video games in general, with some critics wishing that the game followed him instead of protagonist Zidane Tribal.
