- La Unión de Izquierda Socialista (Union de la Gauche Socialiste, UGS) fue un grupo de militantes de izquierda franceses, fundado a finales de 1957 por disidentes de la SFIO y por antiguos miembros de la Resistencia, que hasta entonces estaban más o menos cerca del PCF, sindicalistas cristianos de izquierda . Se trató de la primera experiencia de unidad entre cristianos y marxistas. Este grupo participará en la fundación del PSU en 1960, tras un proceso de fusión con el Partido Socialista Autónomo, también fundado por otros disidentes de la SFIO.
