- UNIVAC II je počítač z roku 1958, který vznikl vylepšením staršího typu UNIVAC I, zejména zvětšením magnetické operační paměti z 1000 na 10000 slov, použitím páskové jednotky , která používala pásku z umělé hmoty PET a byla kompatibilní se starými kovovými páskami pro UNIVAC I a použití tranzistorových obvodů (avšak stále to byl elektronkový počítač). UNIVAC II byl kompatibilní s již existujícími programy pro UNIVAC I jak z hlediska kódu programu, tak z hlediska uložených dat. (cs)

Las mejoras aportadas en esta versión fueron una ampliación de memoria de 2.000 palabras a 10.000, utilización de transistores en algunas partes del circuito, aunque la mayor parte seguía estando construida por tubos de vacío. Ausgebaut wurde vor allem der Hauptspeicher auf 2.000 bis 10.000 Maschinenworte, UNISERVO II Magnetbänder, welche entweder die alten UNIVAC I Magnetbänder oder die neuen auf Mylar basierenden Bänder benutzen konnten. Einige Schaltkreise wurden auf der Basis von Transistoren implementiert (die UNIVAC II war immer noch röhrenbasiert). Il était équipé de lecteurs de bande magnétique UNISERVO II pouvant relire aussi bien les bandes métallisées de l'UNIVAC I que les nouvelles bandes magnétiques en polytéréphtalate d'éthylène, et l'unité centrale était en partie transistorisée. The improvements included the expansion of core memory from 2,000 to 10,000 words; UNISERVO II tape drives, which could use either the old UNIVAC I metal tapes or the new PET tapes; and some transistorized circuits (although it was still overwhelmingly a vacuum tube computer).
