- Tyrolský šedý skot, též tyrolské šedé, německy Tiroler Grauvieh, je typické alpské plemeno skotu z rakouského Tyrolska, chováno je též v Jižním Tyrolsku v Itálii. Menší množství kusů se vyskytuje v a ve Švýcarsku se chová menší typ tohoto plemene pod názvem Rätisches grauvieh. Je to otužilý, odolný skot s kombinovanou užitkovostí, držený celoročně na horských pastvinách s nadmořskou výškou přes 1000 m n. m. Tyrolské šedé je velice staré místní plemeno skotu, v údolí Innu se šedý dojný skot choval již před dvěma tisíci lety. V minulosti bylo rozšířeno prakticky po celých východních Alpách a byla jim zušlechťována italská i jihoevropská plemena skotu, v současné době se počet zvířat snižuje. Je to plemeno středního tělesného rámce, zbarvení je stříbřité až železitě šedé, některá zvířata jsou více dohněda. Spodní strana trupu, břicho, vemeno, vnitřní strana končetin a obroubení mulce jsou světlejší než základní barva. Zvířata jsou rohatá a rohy, stejně tak i tvrdé paznehty, jsou černé. Býci jsou tmavší než krávy. Tyrolský šedý skot je otužilý, dobře zhodnocuje krmivo a má skvělou pastevní schopnost, je robustní, raný a bez problémů se telí. Průměrná roční užitkovost je 4680 kg mléka s obsahem tuku 3,9 % a bílkovin 3,3 % a hodí se tak i pro výrobu másla či sýrů. Denní přírůstek býků ve činí 1150 g a může dosahovat až 60 %. Maso je jemně vláknité s vynikajícím mramorováním a výbornou chutí. 85 % všech stád je chováno v nadmořských výškách přes 1000 m n. m a většina letních pastvin je ve výškách 1600–2000 m n. m. (cs)

Das Tiroler Grauvieh ist ein mittelrahmiges Zweinutzungsrind. Die Tiere sind einfarbig silber- bis eisengrau, der Kopf, Hals und Rumpf ist angeraucht. Das dunkle Flotzmaul ist hell gesäumt, die Klauen sind schwarz. Die Stiere sind dunkler gefärbt als die Kühe und der Rücken wird von einem hellen Aalstrich geziert.Die Kälber der Rasse weisen ein Geburtsgewicht von 34 bis 45 kg auf. Tiroler Grauviehkühe erreichen eine Widerristhöhe von 129 bis 139 cm bei einem Gewicht von 550 bis 650 kg. Die Widerristhöhe der Stiere beträgt 140 bis 150 cm, sie werden üblicherweise 900 bis 1050 kg schwer.Das Tiroler Grauvieh ist als seltene, erhaltenswürdige Rasse eingestuft. Die Rasse wird im Rahmen der ÖPUL-Maßnahme „Seltene Nutztierrassen“ gefördert. (de)

The above-average per cow was 2002 in the South Tyrol about 4,836 kg milk per annum, 3.78% milk fat content, and 3.38% protein (8,491 control cows). When you evaluate the performance you have to allow for the middle body weight and the tough feeding and husbandry conditions in mountain regions. The Tyrolean Grey cattle is a dual purpose breed for milk and beef and possesses an excellent mast ability and beef quality. Breeding purpose is the advancement of milk and beef quantity and quality. Furthermore it is the purpose to conserve the typical functional attributes of the breed: middle body height, robust constitution, correct fundament, hard claws, hardiness, mountain pasture competence, good fertility, easy calving, udder quality and good milkability.
