- الحاصدة الوحيدة هي قصيدة غنائية قصصيّة للشاعر الإنجليزي الرومانسي ويليام وردزوورث، كما أنها واحدة من أشهر أعماله. استلهم الشاعرُ قصيدته من فترة إقامته هو وأخته دورثي بقرية ستراثيري في أبرشية بلقيدر في اسكتلندا في أيلول/سبتمبر من عام 1803. كانت كلمات أغنية الحاصدة غامضة لدى المتحدث، لذا كان اهتمامه مصبوبًا على النغمة وجمال التعبير والمُزاج السعيد الذي خلقته تلك الأغنية بداخله. تُبرز هذه القصيدة جمال الموسيقى وجمال تعبيرها الانسيابي والفيضان التلقائي للمشاعر التي يستعيدها الشاعر في حال السكينة والهدوء والتي أدركها ووردزوورث في قلب الشعر. يأمرُ أو بالأحرى يطلبُ الشاعر في قلبِ القصيدة من المستمعين ملاحظة شابّة عذراء تحصد وتغنّي لنفسها؛ يقول الشاعر أنه على من يمرّ بالجوار إما أن يتوقف أو يمضي بهدوء لكيلا يقاطعها. في هذه القصيدة، يتحدث الشاعر عن فتاة التّل، وهي بمفردها وحيدةً في الحقل؛ تغنّي لحنًا حزينًا ذو صدًى يملأ الوادي العميق، بينما تحصد المحاصيل. يقولُ الشاعر أيضًا إن غناءها كانَ الصوت الوحيد الذي كسر الصمت في مجموعة جُزر هبريدس قبالة ساحل اسكتلندا. لا يملكُ الشاعر أدنى فكرة عن معنى تلك الأغنية أو ما إذا كانت تملك عنوانًا حتّى؛ فلم يحصل على إجابة، مما جعله يُخمّن أنها تدور حول حربٍ قديمة أو أمر دنيوي أو حتى عن معاناة خاضتها وقد تخوضها مجددا. يستسلمُ الشاعر أخيرًا لحقيقة أنه قد لا يعرف أبدًا عنوان أغنيتها غير المنتهية؛ بل أن جمالها قد أثّر في قلب الشاعر وتملَّكه وكأنه يسمعها رغم غيابها. في نهاية القصيدة؛ يُلمّحُ الشاعر أنه عندما صعدَ التل كانت الموسيقى قد حفرت ثقبا في قلبه رغم توقفِ الشابة عن الغناء؛ إما لأنها قد أنهت عملها أو لأن فكرة ما قد خطرت لها. - "The Solitary Reaper" is a lyric poem by English Romantic poet William Wordsworth, and one of his best-known works. The poem was inspired by him and his sister Dorothy's stay at the village of Strathyre in the parish of Balquhidder in Scotland in September 1803. "The Solitary Reaper" is one of Wordsworth's most famous post-Lyrical Ballads lyrics. The words of the reaper's song are incomprehensible to the speaker, so his attention is free to focus on the tone, expressive beauty and the blissful mood it creates in him. The poem functions to "praise the beauty of music and its fluid expressive beauty", the "spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility" that Wordsworth identified at the heart of poetry. The poet orders or requests his listeners to behold a young maiden reaping and singing to herself. The poet says that anyone passing by should either stop or gently pass as not to disturb her. There is a controversy however over the importance of the reaper along with Nature. It was published in Poems, in Two Volumes in 1807. (en)
- The Solitary Reaper è una ballata lirica composta da William Wordsworth il 5 novembre 1805 e pubblicata nel 1807. Il tema principale della poesia è la vita quotidiana in accordo con i principi della poetica che Wordsworth espone nella prefazione delle Lyrical Ballads, la sua opera più famosa. Il componimento è costituito da quattro stanze da 8 versi molti dei quali in iambic tetrameter. Lo schema rimico è sia abcbddee che ababccdd (nella prima e ultima stanza il primo e il terzo verso non rimano, al contrario che nelle altre). La poesia è basata sull'esperienza di Thomas Wilkinson descritta nel libro Tours to the British Mountains, dove egli ci racconta le esperienze in seguito ad un tour della Scozia. Il soggetto della poesia è una ragazza scozzese delle Highland che canta durante la mietitura (un fenomeno comune nella Scozia del tempo come ci racconta Dorothy Wordsworth nel suo diario). Ciò che rende peculiare la poesia risiede nel fatto che l'autore non distingue le parole che la giovane canta ma ne apprezza il tono ed il ritmo (egli ipotizza che la ragazza stia cantando di fatti accaduti in passato o di qualche triste evento familiare), riuscendo a coglierne la bellezza, che porterà con sé in seno al cuore, anche allontanandosene.
