- The Light at the Edge of the World és una pel·lícula d'aventura de 1971 dirigida per i protagonitzada per Kirk Douglas, Yul Brynner, Samantha Eggar i Fernando Rey. És una adaptació del clàssic de Jules Verne del 1905 Le phare du bout du monde (El far de la fi del món). Va ser rodada principalment al Cap de Creus, Cadaqués, on es va construir un far com a decorat principal. En la seqüència final de la pel·lícula la part superior del far es crema en la lluita dels dos protagonistes. La torre es va mantenir en runes fins al 2006 quan es va realitzar el seu desmantellament per naturalitzar l'espai, ubicat dins del Parc Natural del Cap de Creus. (ca)

Los exteriores fueron rodados en España, en el Cabo de Creus, en la Costa Brava, a pocos km de Cadaqués. En el extremo del cabo, más allá del faro, fue construida una torre que tenía que representar el faro llamado del Fin del Mundo, en el este de la Tierra del Fuego (Argentina), inspiración de la novela, y que fue demolida hace pocos años para restituir al paisaje su aspecto original. Sin embargo, la torre del de la película difiere del original faro de San Juan de Salvamento (conocido coloquialmente como faro del fin del mundo), ya que aquel era en realidad una estructura de madera relativamente baja. Een groep piraten onder leiding van Kongre verovert een eiland met een vuurtoren. Ze willen de vuurtoren zo misbruiken om naderende schepen te laten vastlopen, waarna ze de schepen kunnen ontdoen van hun lading. Er is echter nog de (ondergedoken) vuurtorenwachter Denton, die de plannen van de piraten wil verijdelen. (nl)
