- Le piétin-verse, appelé aussi « taches ocellées du blé », est une importante maladie fongique du blé causé par deux espèces de champignons nécrotrophes, Tapesia yallundae (syn. : Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides; type-W [anamorphe] ; Oculimacula yallundae) et Tapesia acuformis (syn. : Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides; type-R [anamorphe]; Oculimacula acuformis). Le piétin-verse est plus grave dans les parcelles où le blé est cultivé en continu (monoculture) et lorsque le climat est frais et humide. Le traitement des cultures contre le piétin-verse à l'aide de fongicides coûte très cher aux agriculteurs et est compliqué par l'apparition chez les agents pathogènes de souches résistantes aux fongicides les plus couramment utilisés.Dans les cas les plus graves, la maladie peut réduire le rendement de 40 % et plus.C'est une maladie répandue surtout dans les régions tempérées en Amérique du Nord et du Sud, en Europe, en Australie et en Nouvelle-Zélande, ainsi qu'en Afrique. - De oogvlekkenziekte is een plantenparasitaire schimmelziekte, maar komt ook voor als een saprofyt. De ongeslachtelijke fase wordt Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides (synoniem: Cercosporella herpotrichoides) genoemd en de geslachtelijke fase Tapesia yallundae (synoniem: Oculimacula yallundae). De oogvlekkenziekte komt wereldwijd voor in de gematigde gebieden, vooral in het westen en oosten van Europa, in Noord-Amerika (Verenigde Staten, Canada), in Chili , in Australië, Nieuw-Zeeland en in Zuid-Afrika.. Waardplanten zijn onder andere granen waaronder gewone tarwe, gerst, rogge en haver. De ziekte is moeilijk te onderscheiden van de scherpe oogvlekkenziekte. De oogvlekkenziekte blijft over op aangetaste stoppels en graanresten en infecteert op korte afstand nieuwe planten door conidiën. Infectie over grotere afstanden kan door ascosporen plaatsvinden. Infectie vindt plaats boven de 5°C. De optimale dagtemperatuur voor infectie is 15°C met een nachttemperatuur van 10°C. (nl)
