- Sylvain Houles, né le 3 août 1981, est un joueur devenu entraîneur de rugby à XIII français. En tant que joueur, il pouvait évoluer au poste d'ailier, de centre ou de troisième ligne. Il fait ses débuts avec le XIII Catalan avant d'effectuer la majeure partie de sa carrière en Angleterre où successivement il a défendu les couleurs des Giants d'Huddersfield, des Broncos de London, des Rams de Dewsbury et des Trinity Wildcats de Wakefield. Il termine sa carrière au Toulouse olympique XIII. Parallèlement, il est appelé à plusieurs reprises en Équipe de France mais ne disputera aucune Coupe du monde. Une fois sa carrière de joueur terminée, il se reconvertit en entraîneur. Ses débuts sont couronnés de succès puisqu'en prenant le Toulouse olympique XIII, il permet à ce club de réaliser pour la première fois de son histoire le doublé Championnat de France-Coupe de France lors de la saison 2013-2014 (fr)
- Sylvain Houles (born 3 August 1981) is the head coach of Toulouse Olympique in the Betfred Championship and a French former professional rugby league footballer. As a player, Houles was a French international who toured New Zealand and Papua New Guinea in 2001 and appeared in the Super League for the Huddersfield Giants, the London Broncos and the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. He also played in the Championship for the Dewsbury Rams and Toulouse Olympique. His position of choice was initially on the wing or in the centre, but in his later career he played as a loose forward. Houles combined playing with an assistant coach role in his later career, was appointed head coach of Toulouse Olympique once his playing career ended in 2012. On 10 October 2021, Houles coached Toulouse to victory over Featherstone in the Million Pound Game which saw the club promoted to the Super League for the first time in their history. (en)
