- تعتبر دراسات الجنين في الرحم رسمان توضيحيان ملونان أعدهما ليوناردو دافنشي في عام 1511 تقريبًا. تصف الدراسات الجنين البشري بشكل صحيح في موضعه الصحيح داخل الرحم المشرح. يصور دافنشي الرحم بغرفة واحدة، على النقيض من النظريات التي مفادها أن الرحم يحتوي على غرف متعددة يعتقد الكثيرون أنها قسمت الأجنة إلى مقصورات منفصلة في حالة التوائم. كما رسم دافنشي بشكل صحيح الشريان الرحمي ونظام الأوعية الدموية في عنق الرحم والمهبل . - Les études du fœtus dans l'utérus sont deux esquisses annotées et colorées du peintre florentin Léonard de Vinci, réalisées vers 1511. Ces études représentent correctement le fœtus humain dans sa position appropriée, dans un utérus disséqué. Léonard de Vinci représente l'utérus avec une seule chambre, mot de l'époque désignant la poche des eaux, contrairement aux théories selon lesquelles l'utérus comportait plusieurs poches qui, selon beaucoup, divisaient les fœtus en compartiments séparés dans le cas de jumeaux. De Vinci a également correctement dessiné l'artère utérine et le système vasculaire du col de l'utérus et du vagin. (fr)
- Studies of the Fetus in the Womb are two colored annotated sketches by Leonardo da Vinci made in around 1511. The studies correctly depict the human fetus in its proper position inside a dissected uterus. Leonardo depicted the uterus with one chamber, in contrast to theories that the uterus had multiple chambers which many believed divided fetuses into separate compartments in the case of twins. Leonardo also correctly drew the uterine artery and the vascular system of the cervix and vagina. (en)
