- Die Statue der Priesterin Aristonoe im Archäologischen Nationalmuseum Athen (NAMA) mit der Inventarnummer 232 wird in das dritte Jahrhundert v. Chr. datiert. Die Statue ist in großen Teilen abgesehen von einigen Bestoßungen erhalten. Nur der rechte Unterarm und die linke Hand fehlen. Beide Unterarme waren separat gefertigt und angesetzt. Auch der Kopf wurde als Einsatzkopf gearbeitet, ist aber vollständig erhalten. Auch die Plinthe und die rechteckige Basis sind erhalten. Aristonoe steht frontal zum Betrachter. Das rechte ist das Stand-, das linke das leicht angewinkelte Spielbein. Die Arme sind angewinkelt und nach vorn gestreckt. Der Kopf ist leicht nach rechts gewandt. Die geflochtenen Haare sind sorgfältig nach hinten angeordnet und über der Stirn geteilt. Der Körper ist abgesehen von den Vorderfüßen, Unterarmen, Hals und Kopf vollständig bedeckt. Aristonoe trägt einen Chiton und ein Himation. Die Statue aus Pentelischem Marmor wurde 1890 im lange als Tempel der Themis vermuteten Tempel der Nemesis in Rhamnous gefunden. Die mit 1,62 Meter etwa lebensgroße Statue mit der 38 Zentimeter hohen, 61 Zentimeter breiten und 62 Zentimeter tiefen Basis ist laut einer Basisinschrift der Göttin Nemesis geweiht. Gestiftet wurde sie von Hierokles, dem Sohn von Hieropoios und der Aristonoe. Aristonoe ist laut der Inschrift Tochter eines Nikokrates von Rhamnous. The statue is made from Pentelic marble and is about life size at 1.62 metres high. It is almost entirely intact, apart from a few dents. Only the lower right arm and the left hand are missing. Both lower arms were carved separately and then attached. The head was also made as a separate piece, but it survives completely intact. The plinth and rectangular base also survive; the base is 38 cm high, 61 cm wide, and 62 cm deep. Aristonoe stands facing the viewer. Her weight rests on her right leg, the left is free. The arms are bent and reach forwards. The head is tilted slightly to the right. The hair is carefully pulled back and over the forehead. Apart from parts of the feet, the lower arms, the neck and the head, the body is fully clothed. Aristonoe wears a chiton and a himation. The statue was found in 1890 in the temple of Nemesis at Rhamnous which was long attributed to Themis. According to the inscription on the base, the statue was dedicated to the goddess Nemesis. It was donated by Hierokles, son of Hieropoios and Aristonoe. According to the inscription, Aristonoe herself was the daughter of one Nikokrates of Rhamnous. (en)
