- Spank Rock, de son vrai nom Naeem Juwan, est un rappeur et auteur-compositeur américain, originaire de Baltimore, dans le Maryland. Il se popularise en 2006 grâce à son album YoYoYoYoYo, produit par son ancien collègue de groupe Alex Epton (XXXChange). Spécialisé dans le hip-hop alternatif, le duo se popularise pour son mélange des genres hip-hop et musique électronique, incluant Baltimore club, Miami bass, et electro et rock. En 2007, Epton quitte le groupe afin de poursuivre une carrière solo dans la production, tandis que Juwan publie l'EP Bangers and Cash en 2007 aux côtés du producteur pop Benny Blanco. Après cinq ans de conflit contractuel au label Downtown Records, Juwan publie son premier album solo Everything Is Boring and Everyone Is a Fucking Liar en 2011, aux côtés des producteurs Boys Noize, Le1f, XXXChange, et Squeak E. A harbinger of post-millennial alternative rap, the duo became known for its mixing of disparate hip hop and club genres, including Baltimore club, Miami bass, electro music and rock. In 2007, Epton left the group to pursue his own production while Juwan went on to release the Bangers & Cash EP (2007) with pop producer Benny Blanco. After a five-year contract struggle with his label Downtown Records, Juwan released his second album, Everything Is Boring and Everyone Is a Fucking Liar, with a range of producers including Boys Noize, Le1f, XXXChange, and Squeak E. - Spank Rock è un gruppo musicale hip hop statunitense composto dal rapper Naeem Juwan (MC Spank Rock) e dal produttore Alex Epton (XXXChange) Il gruppo inizia esibendosi nei locali di Filadelfia e Phoenixville, per poi esibirsi nei tour di e M.I.A. e Beck. Il loro album di debutto, viene pubblicato nel 2006, ed il singolo Bump da esso estratto viene nominato brano dell'anno da radio Xfm London nel 2006. Bump viene anche utilizzato nella colonna sonora di Entourage. Nel 2007 il gruppo ha firmato un nuovo contratto con l'etichetta , con cui nel 2007 pubblicato l'EP Bangers & Cash. Nel 2010 MC Spank Rock ha collaborato insieme a Kyle Falconer, cantante dei The View nel brano The Bike Song di Mark Ronson. (it)

Låten "Bump" spelades även i den amerikanska tv-serien Entourage. 2007 kom EP:n tillsammans med Benny Blanco. Sedan genombrottet har Spank Rock turnerat med bland andra M.I.A. och Beck.
