- Die South Pacific Tourism Organisation (STPO), selten auch South Pacific Tourism Organization, ist eine zwischenstaatliche Organisation zur Tourismusförderung im Pazifikraum. Sie hat ihre Hauptsitz in Suva, der Hauptstadt Fidschis. Bis 2004 wurde die Finanzierung vor allem durch Gelder der Europäischen Union sichergestellt. Seitdem hat die Volksrepublik China zum Großteil die Finanzierung übernommen. Die STPO wurde als zwischenstaatliche Organisation am 18. Oktober 1999 in der samoanischen Hauptstadt Apia gegründet. Sie ging aus dem 1983 formierten Tourism Council of the South Pacific hervor. (de)
- The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) formerly known as the South Pacific Tourism Organisation is an intergovernmental organisation for the tourism sector in the South Pacific. The SPTO markets, promotes, and develops tourism in the Pacific in overseas markets. The main office is located in Suva, Fiji. Originally, the organisation was funded by the European Union as a form of development aid. However, EU funding expired in 2004 and was not renewed. From that point onwards, the SPTO was forced to find other sources of income, which resulted in China becoming a member of the SPTO board. (en)
