- Democracia Social fue un partido político mexicano de ideología socialdemócrata que tuvo registro legal de 1999 a 2000, participó en las elecciones de 2000 postulando a la presidencia a Gilberto Rincón Gallardo. Democracia Social se definía a sí mismo como un partido de izquierda moderna, a similitud con los partidos socialdemócratas europeos y buscando diferenciarse de los partidos político mexicanos tradicionales. Inició su organización en 1996 quedando formalmente constituido y obteniendo su registro en junio de 1999. Después de no alcanzar el 2% de la votación en el proceso electoral del año 2000 para continuar con su registro, el partido desapareció. Varios de sus miembros se integraron posteriormente al Partido México Posible, el cual participó en las elecciones legislativas de 2003 aunque nuevamente sin éxito en conservar su registro. (es)
- Social Democracy (Spanish: Democracia Social) was a Mexican political party formed in June 1999 and disbanded after the 2000 federal elections. In the 2 July 2000 presidential elections its candidate, Gilberto Rincón Gallardo, won 1.6% of the popular vote. In the senatorial elections of the same date the party won 1.8% but no seats in the Senate of Mexico. Since it did not secure 2.0% percent of the national vote it lost its conditional recognition by the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE). In 2003 its most visible leaders could not reorganize its former members under the Party of the Rose (Partido de la Rosa). After failing to regain the federal recognition, most of them migrated to different parties of the center-left such as México Posible, Fuerza Ciudadana, Convergencia and the Social Democratic and Peasant Alternative Party. Among its most prominents members were Gilberto Rincón Gallardo, and Patricia Mercado. (en)

Zoals haar naam doet vermoeden was de partij een sociaaldemocratische partij, die werd geïnspireerd door de Europese sociaaldemocratische partijen. In 2000 haalde Gilberto Rincón Gallardo, tevens voorzitter van de partij, 1,61% van de stemmen in de presidentsverkiezingen. Bij de gelijktijdige parlementsverkiezingen behaalde de partij niet genoeg stemmen om een zetel te halen, waardoor de partij na een jaar alweer verdween. Rincón Gallardo heeft geprobeerd de partij heropterichten als de 'Partij van de Roos', maar deze werd niet erkend door het Federaal Electoraal Instituut (IFE).
