- Simon MacKenzie (also known as S.P. MacKenzie) is a military historian, author and academic. He was educated at the University of Toronto and received a DPhil from the University of Oxford in 1989. MacKenzie teaches at the University of South Carolina. He has won the Templer Medal, awarded by the Society for Army Historical Research (“for thebook which in the Society’s view has made the greatest contribution to the studyof British military history.”) for his 1992 book, 'Politics and Military Morale: Current-Affairs and Citizenship Education in the British Army 1914–1950'.
