- Silvio D'Amico (né le 3 février 1887 à Rome et mort dans la même ville le 1er avril 1955) est un critique de théâtre et journaliste italien, fondateur de l'Académie nationale d'art dramatique en 1936 qui porte son nom depuis sa mort. Entre 1925 et 1940, il dirige la critique dramatique dans le journal La Tribune. Avec Nicola De Pirro, il fonde la revue Scenario en 1932 et ils la dirigent ensemble pendant trois ans, après quoi De Pirro continue seul. (fr)

Not a Fascist himself, D'Amico was the major theater critic during the ventennio, the twenty years (1922-1945) of Fascist rule in Italy. He was the first editor of the nine volume Enciclopedia dello Spettacolo (Encyclopedia of Performing Arts), published between 1954 and 1965, that covered theater, music, cinema, and dance. Most notably, he held an eminent position in theatrical study in Italy, giving his name to the Silvio D'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Art in Rome, Italy's most prestigious drama school. (en)

У 25 років розпочинає свою журналістську діяльність, розпочинаючи публікуватись у часописі L'Idea Nazionale. Засновує і з 1932 до 1936 року керує часописом Scenario разом з Нікола де Пірро. З 1937 до 1943 керує часописом Rivista italiana del Dramma. Пише статті у часописі Il Giornale d'Italia з 1941 до 1943. Після цього припиняє свою співпрацю у зв'язку з фашистській окупації столиці. З 1945 до 1955 року працює критиком часопису Il Tempo та Teatro в якому співпрацює с Джанлуїджі Ронді. Помирає в Римі у 1955 році.
