- Showbiz and A.G., oder auch Show and A.G., sind ein US-amerikanisches Hip-Hop-Duo, bestehend aus dem Produzenten Showbiz (bürgerlich Rodney Lemay) und dem Rapper A.G. (kurz für Andre the Giant; bürgerlich Andre M. Barnes). Das aus dem New Yorker Stadtteil Bronx stammende Duo ist seit Jahr 1990 zusammen aktiv und veröffentlichte seitdem sieben Alben. Showbiz col tempo ha lasciato il rapping per dedicarsi esclusivamente alla produzione, mentre A.G. (abbreviativo di Andre the Giant) è un rapper. Il duo debutta in Funky Technician, album di Lord Finesse uscito nel 1990. Negli anni seguenti forma la Showbiz Records e il collettivo Diggin' in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C.), composto dallo stesso Lord Finesse, Diamond D, O.C., Fat Joe, Buckwild e Big L. Show & A.G. contribuiscono a rivitalizzare la scena hip-hop del Bronx partendo dal basso e commercializzando le proprie cassette per strada. Il successo underground dei singoli Soul Clap e Party Groove, quest'ultimo andato più volte in rotazione su Yo! MTV Raps, li porta a produrre prima l'EP Soul Clap poi il disco Runaway Slave, entrambi nel 1992. Il duo riscontra un successo underground, venendo ignorato dal mainstream anche col seguito del 1995 Goodfellas. Nel 2000 sono tra gli artefici dell'esordio dei D.I.T.C. con l'album omonimo. (it)
